How to Efficiently Deploy a MES

What is a MES? 

A Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is a modular software that allows managing the operation and the execution of the production process according to the business process and instructions embedded in a Master Batch Record (MBR). The MES allows supervising the entire production process through its lifecycle: 

• Design of an MBR  
• Work order management and execution including the integration with external systems (e.g. ERP, LIMS, SCADA) 
• Material handling and equipment management 
• Exception management and batch record review  

All these actions provide full traceability of the executed operations and enforce the execution of activities in compliance with regulations and defined procedures.
